QuickLatch
Privacy Policy
QuickLatch is built to keep visual information under your control. The app has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated servers.

What stays on your Mac
QuickLatch can create and store screenshots, screen recordings, recognized text, source-app names, browser page addresses, annotations, workspace notes, and optional voice notes. This content is stored in the app’s sandbox on your Mac unless you choose to copy, export, share, or sync it.
Screenshot text recognition and sensitive-content detection use Apple frameworks on your Mac. Voice-note transcription is requested only when you use voice notes and is configured to require on-device recognition.
Screenshot-to-web reconstruction
When you choose Recreate as Web Page, QuickLatch analyzes the selected screenshot on your Mac and generates HTML, CSS, and image assets locally. It does not fetch the original website or send the screenshot to an external AI service. The generated files can contain text and imagery from your capture, including private information visible in it.
The preview uses temporary files on your Mac. QuickLatch attempts to remove its session-owned preview files when you cancel or close the studio; a cleanup failure or interrupted app session can leave temporary files behind. Files you export remain in the folder you choose until you remove them. Review the output before copying, sharing, or publishing it.
Optional ways data can leave the app
- iCloud Drive: If you enable iCloud Drive sync, QuickLatch copies selected capture data into your personal iCloud Drive container. Apple provides and operates that service; Clumsy Cloud Studio does not receive or access those files.
- Custom folders: If you choose an auto-save folder, QuickLatch writes captures there. The folder may be local or may belong to a sync provider you selected.
- Actions you initiate: Copying to the clipboard, exporting, sharing through AirDrop, or opening a saved source link sends data only to the destination you choose.
- Website links: Choosing Help → Privacy Policy or opening a saved source link opens your browser. That website and its hosting provider receive the normal information associated with a browser request; this is separate from local capture and reconstruction.
Visual Time Travel
Visual Time Travel is off by default. When you turn it on, QuickLatch keeps a short, low-frame-rate screen buffer in memory. The buffer is cleared when the feature stops or the app exits, unless you deliberately save a frame as a capture.
Permissions
- Screen Recording lets QuickLatch capture the screen.
- Accessibility supports window selection, optional background trackpad gestures, and optional browser-address lookup.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition are requested only for optional voice notes.
You can disable optional features in QuickLatch Settings and manage system permissions in macOS System Settings.
Collection, tracking, and third parties
QuickLatch does not send your captures or usage activity to Clumsy Cloud Studio. It includes no advertising network, analytics service, tracking technology, or third-party software development kit.
The QuickLatch website does not set advertising cookies or run product analytics. Its hosting provider may process standard request information, such as an IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site.
Retention and deletion
Content in the QuickLatch library remains on your Mac until you delete it. You can delete captures and workspaces inside the app. Files you exported or synced must be removed from their destination separately. macOS may also clear temporary recording files according to its own storage management.
QuickLatch does not create an online account, so there is no developer-held account or cloud profile to delete.
Support messages
If you email support, Clumsy Cloud Studio receives the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot, and retain it only as long as reasonably needed for support and business records. Please do not send unredacted captures containing sensitive information.
Changes to this policy
If QuickLatch’s data practices change, this page will be updated before the new practice applies. The date above identifies the current version.
